TCM Watch 3.7.26: Speedy (1928)
Tomorrow on Turner Classic Movies: SPEEDY (1928)
This is a great example of the dynamism of the late silent film, before cinema became tethered to a microphone cable. The plot is less important than the whirlwind tour of the New York City of 1928. It’s frenetic. It’s kinetic. And it’s even got a cameo by Babe Ruth. Set your DVR!

TCM Watch – The Harder They Fall (1956)
Tonight on Turner Classic Movies: Humphrey Bogart’s final film is a classic of the boxing noir sub-genre. Bogie plays a washed-up sportswriter who trades his reputation for a paycheck when he agrees to hype a stiff with a glass jaw. Rod Steiger is appropriately sinister as the syndicate boss, and film noir bad girl Jan Sterling is sympathetic as Bogart’s long-suffering wife. Also features Mike Lane as Toro Moreno, Jersey Joe Walcott and Max Baer, Sr.
